New to Magic
Put simply, 'Magic', as it is commonly known is a strategy card game, considered as a 'Mind Sport' like Chess, Scrabble or Bridge.
Magic has been around since 1993, created by Maths professor, Richard Garfield. It is now played by over 20 million across the five continents either casually or competitively, by all ages and backgrounds. It is printed in 11 languages by Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of game giant Hasbro.
It is very versatile: and can be played 1 on 1 or multiplayer, making it fun for all to play.

It is very simple. Just come and visit us at our Mindsport Centre. We will give you a pack of cards, together with an easy to read playing guide, with which you will immediately be able to start playing. Do not worry, we will spend a few minutes helping you go through the basic rules of the game.
After this initial discovery you may wish to acquire a more sophisticated deck of cards with which you will be plotting strategic ways to overcome your opponents and become a true wizard of the game. We have a vast range of ready made decks available for you to choose from, starting from as low as £11.95.
COME TO Friday Night Magic 6.45pm-9.15pm every week.
You play with your own deck - if you forget it or do not have one yet, we will lend you one. All abilities are welcome. This is ideal for players 10 to 18 years and their families. Come along by yourself or with friends and family, there is no need to book, just turn up and play.
The format of Friday Night Magic is 'Modern' where most cards printed since 2004 can be used.
We also run events on week days during the school holidays, and at weekends.
Check out our Events Calendar.
On Saturday and Sunday, International artist John Avon will make his ONLY appearance at a UK or European premier event in 2017.
What is a DCI number and why do I need one?
It's a free membership number which will allow you to play and track your performance history in Magic the Gathering tournaments at Axion Now and around the world.
The DCI is the official sanctioning body for tournament play in Magic. For the curious amongst you DCI stands for Duelists Convocation International.
To get a DCI number, please contact us. We will arrange a DCI registration card with a membership number.
